Recent Changes to Louisiana Law Affecting the Injured, Insurers, and Tortfeasors CLE
Fri, March 21, 2025
12:00 PM - 1:00 PM CT
This hour-long CLE will focus on the recent changes to Louisiana law that affect those having claims against tortfeasors and their insurers. Attendees will gain perspective of these new laws from Phil Lorio of the Chopin Law Firm, who represents injury victims, and Sloan Abernathy of the firm Deutsch Kerrigan, who defends insurers and their insureds. The presentation will focus on the plain language of the new laws, how courts have interpreted them, and what practical implications practitioners should expect in the future. Specific topics to be discussed are the 2024 tort reform legislation, including changes to the Direct Action Statute.
