On April 9, 2022, the New Orleans Bar Association Young Lawyers' Section hosted the New Orleans Bar & Grille law firm cooking competition with Honorary Chair Judge Roland Belsome. Teams of amateur chefs from local law firms and organizations competed for "Best Traditional Dish," "Best Dessert," "Best Cocktail/Mocktail," "Most Creative Dish," "Team Spirit," "Crowd Favorite," and "Best Overall Dish" determined by our panel of judges. Proceeds from the cooking competition benefit the Veterans Justice Fellowship. Congratulations to the 2022 Bar & Grille Cooking Competition winners!

 

 

Best Overall: Liskow & Lewis

Team Liskow & Lewis swept the award categories, with wins for Best Overall Dish, Most Creative Dish, and Best Traditional Dish for their for their Samurai Smoked Burnt Ends served over a bed of rice with a maple syrup sriracha sauce, garnished with green onion and sesame seeeds and their Shōga Martini with a dragon fruit garnish. It was delicious!

           

 


 

Best Cocktail: Stone Pigman 

Team Stone Pigman won Best Cocktail for their Hot Doc-tail, an original cocktail of jalapeno-infused blanco tequila, fresh squeezed lemon and lime juice, house made simple syrup, and Oaxacan chocolate molé bitters, garnished with a Chambord and blackberry compote. Cheers!

 

 

 


 

Best Dessert: Southeast Louisiana Legal Services

Southeast Louisiana Legal Services' Team Lawful House won Best Dessert for their Inter-Straw-Gatories, a sweet mini waffle topped with fresh strawberries and whipped cream. Very tasty indeed!


 

Most Team Spirit: Baker Donelson

Crowd Favorite: McGlinchey 

McGlinchey's Team Zoom Zoom won Crowd Favorite for their WFH Chicken and Waffles with Spicy Syrup - crunchy, sweet, and unctuous with a hint of Tabasco that will guarantee weight gain. You can't see it but their working from home outfits inlcded fuzzy slippers and comfy pants, which is a good thing because everyone hleped themsleves to seconds of the perfectly fried, crispy chicken! Yum!
