On Sunday, April 12, the Young Lawyers Section hosted the New Orleans Bar & Grille law firm cooking competition at the Peristyle in City Park. The competition was led by Honorary Chair Judge LaKeisha Jefferson and Bar & Grille Co-Chairs Alex Domingue and Mollie Highstreet Overton. Teams of amateur chefs from local law firms competed for “Best Traditional Dish,” “Best Dessert,” “Best Cocktail/Mocktail,” “Most Creative Dish,” “Team Spirit,” “Crowd Favorite,” and “Best Overall” titles awarded by our distinguished judges. Proceeds from the cooking competition benefit the Veterans Justice Fellowship. Congratulations to the 2026 Bar & Grille winners, and thank you to our sponsors!

Team Pugh Accardo brought the heat to the Bar & Grille winning
first place Best Overall, Best Traditional Dish, and Best Cocktail.
They also earned second place in the Most Creative and Team

flavorful, Brigadeiro Dessert, a classic Brazilian treat similar to
chocolate truffles that are extremely scrumptious and delicious,
and Caipirinha drink, a Brazilian cocktail made with cachaça,
sugar, lime, and ice, brought spectators to paradise for the day at
the Bar & Grille!

2nd Place Best Overall: Kean Cuisine (Kean Miller)

Kean Miller’s Kean Cuisine was the ultimate throwback. Their Extra
Credit Miso Brown Butter Rice Krispy Brule was a nostalgic after
school treat elevated with rich brown butter and a miso twist! Their
Detention Party Ribs with Spicy Addicting Cucumbers were
slow-smoked pork ribs glazed in a rich Korean gochujang-brown
sugar BBQ sauce, finished with a small side of crunchy, spicy
cucumbers for the perfect bite. To top it off, the team offered a
Kean Cuisine Chiller Cocktail, a refreshing mango and
citrus-forward blend with subtle fruit notes and a crisp finish,
served in a Capri-Sun style pouch for the ultimate Y2K throwback.
The combo earned the team second place Best Overall, third place
Best Traditional Dish, and third place Team Spirit.

3rd Place Best Overall: Liskow Lemonade Stand

Team Liskow’s Lemonade Stand was a refreshing stop at the

tart and sweet. Pairing it with their crisp Lavender Muse lemonade,
the team earned third place Best Overall, first place Most Creative,
second place Best Cocktail, and third place Best Dessert.

Balls, Star Spangled Strawberries and Ice Cream Dessert, and

Southeast Louisiana Legal Services gave their own take
on lemon laws offering Lemon Balls of Justice (lemon tarts),
Corn Maque Trial (Corn Maque Choux with shrimp, crawfish,
and bacon), and Ooh La Law Lemonade. The team earned the
Honorary Chair Choice Award.

Scott Vicknair: Subpoena the Pit

Injunctive Relief Margarita. This secret recipe margarita with
a choice of salt or tajin was a crowd pleaser.

with their Backyard Beach Bums theme serving Pineapple Pork
Sliders and Painkiller cocktails. Mahalo!
