Navigating Civility, Well-Being, and Integrity in Today's Legal Practice

The practice of law continues to evolve, and so do the expectations of professionalism. From the rise of remote practice and generative AI to the renewed emphasis on mental health and collegiality, today’s lawyers face an unprecedented mix of pressures and opportunities. This CLE explores recent developments in professionalism through the lens of civility, well-being, and integrity. Participants will examine how professionalism principles intersect with technology, client communication, mentoring, and community engagement—and how those principles protect both lawyers and their legacies. The program will include a review of recent Louisiana disciplinary opinions, court orders, and bar initiatives emphasizing professionalism in advocacy and lawyer wellness. Through case examples and practical tools, attendees will learn how to translate aspirational professionalism into daily practice choices.
