New Orleans Bar Association’s Criminal Law Committee, Committee Chair Judge Marcus DeLarge and Judge Simone Levine are proud to partner with NAMI Southeast Louisiana and Orleans Parish Court to present a Continuing Legal Education (CLE) session focused on mental illness recognition, crisis de-escalation, and effective resource allocation. This training will equip legal professionals with practical tools to identify signs of mental health conditions, respond appropriately during crises, and connect individuals to community-based services. The session aims to strengthen diversion efforts and support a more compassionate, effective judicial response to individuals living with mental illness.
