NOBA Remembers Dawn M. Barrios

It is with sadness NOBA shares the news that Dawn Barrios, a valued member of NOBA and NOBF, passed away this weekend. Dawn was the founding member of Barrios, Kingsdorf & Casteix, and her work was in the field of complex multi-district litigation, products liability litigation, mass torts, and class actions. Those who knew Dawn will remember her kindness, dedication, and wisdom.

In 2021, NOBA featured Dawn in Spotlight on Successful Women in the Law.

In 2014, Dawn was the first woman to receive NOBA’s prestigious Arceneaux Professionalism Award. On Dawn's work, the Honorable Eldon E. Fallon has said: "Dawn brings to every legal task a great work ethic, excellent organization skills, and an ability to accomplish her goal without alienating or disparaging her opponent. She understands well that, in the trial arena, a successful advocate never cuts what they can untie. She is a true professional and deserves this award." 

Dawn was President of the New Orleans Bar Foundation in 2016-17 and her steady guidance ensured our success that year and for years to come. She made a commitment to mentor the NOBA/NOBF Public Interest Fellows. Dawn remained committed to the success of the Foundation and its programs. Her commitment to the legal community will leave a lasting mark.
