Property, Permits, and Parades CLE - January 29

Louisiana property law impacts Mardi Gras parades in more ways than people realize.  Sure, everyone understands how the rule of capture (or occupancy) may impact who owns the Muses shoe, but did you know whether a chair can lawfully be placed on the neutral ground hinges on whether it is (or is not) upholstered?  Or that there are particular regulations about whether “silly string” – a defined term in the New Orleans municipal code – can be sold along a parade route?  The property permitting required for parading during Carnival is vast, even when enforcement is not.  Come enjoy this timely Mardi Gras CLE and learn about how property law impacts the permitting process for parading and what happens in litigation when all of the permits are not followed.
