A few things to know before you arrive:

• Repack volunteers will turn off Edwards Avenue onto G Street to park and enter the facility at 700 Edwards Avenue (Main Entrance).  A Community Outreach Staff will greet our volunteers upon arrival.
• The warehouse is climate controlled so please dress accordingly.
• You must wear closed toe shoes! Anyone wearing flip-flops, sandals, or Crocs will not be permitted to work the shift.
• Cold water is available for all volunteers.
• Waivers must be completed on your volunteer profile via www.no-hunger.org by logging into your Second Harvest account profile . If this is not submitted prior to the start of the shift, scheduled volunteers will not be able to participate in the shift.
• Second Harvest requires 1 chaperone per 5 youth between the ages of 9-13 and 1 chaperone per 10 youth between the ages of 14-18.
• Second Harvest is not responsible for lost or stolen personal items – please lock valuables in your car.
• Please arrive on time. Anyone arriving more than 15 minutes late may not be permitted to volunteer for the shift. Remember to sign in and sign out and make a name badge.
• If you need a letter or record for service hours please notify the Community Outreach Staff upon your arrival.

Parking information:

• Enter building at main entrance at 700 Edwards Avenue– see image below.
• In front of the main entrance of Second Harvest at 700 Edwards (limited spots available)
• Carpool and ride sharing are strongly encouraged
• Alongside Second Harvest building on G street and along fence line of our rear truck yard/loading dock:
  • Turn on G Street from Edwards Avenue
  • For parking on the grassy area on the right, please pull close to building so another vehicle can double park behind you, if needed.
  • If you double park behind a vehicle, please leave your name and phone number clearly visible on your dashboard, in case the vehicle you are blocking needs to leave.
  • Please do not block any gates, loading dock areas, etc.
• Do not park at film studio brick building at 600 Edwards Avenue, Second Harvest does not have permission for that area:
  • However, you may park further down on this side G Street, in front of fence across from our rear loading dock/fleet. 
  • Please do not enter the building from the loading dock. If you see the loading dock and/or our fleet, you are not entering the building correctly.
