The New Orleans Bar Association (NOBA) supports the judicial security bill, HB 669, which provides for limiting access of personal information of both state and federal judges in Louisiana. The independence of the judiciary is integral to the rule of law and judges must be free to exercise their judicial functions without external pressures or interference. Ensuring that judges can perform their duties without threats to their safety is fundamental to maintaining the integrity and effectiveness of the judiciary. NOBA joins in advocating for measures that protect Louisiana judges from any form of violence, intimidation, or undue influence.
