George A. Frilot, III, died peacefully on January 12, 2024. Mr. Frilot graduated from Loyola University, where he received his undergraduate and law degrees. After finishing first in his class at Loyola Law School, he began his legal career at Lemle, Kelleher, Kohlmeyer and Matthews. Mr. Frilot practiced Maritime Law, chaired the Admiralty section and eventually became a Managing Partner. In 1995 he started the litigation firm Frilot, Partridge, Kohnke and Clements, along with 22 other lawyers. Mr. Frilot was widely regarding as a consummate trial lawyer, who handled a long line of high profile mass disaster maritime, environmental and energy cases around the world. He was a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. In 2007 he received the Louisiana Bar Foundation’s Curtis R. Boisfontaine Trial Advocacy Award given to a Louisiana lawyer who exhibits long standing devotion to and excellence in trial practice and upholds the standards of ethics and consideration for the court, litigants and all counsel.

Mr. Frilot was a nationally ranked tennis player who won multiple USTA championships in both singles and doubles. In 2009 he was inducted into the Louisiana Tennis Hall of Fame.

He is survived by a brother; four children; and four grandchildren.
