Real Property Looks at the Reality of Louisiana's Anti-Indemnity Act

Real Property committee members dove straight into their area of interest with animated musings of potential streetcar routes and even the dream of a light rail in the Crescent City when they gathered on April 24th at the New Orleans Bar Association for a lunch meeting. Marie Moore of Sher Garner kicked the meeting off in earnest with an all-angles look at Louisiana’s Anti-Indemnity Act. The act was considered in terms of construction contracts (with special note to the absence of subcontractor specific clauses) and property owners. Real Property committee members looked over changes to the act and language nuances while comparing it to similar legislation in other states.
