Copyright? Or, fair use?  Walter Wolf explored the copyright of literary and film characters in "It's a Matter of Character: Recent Developments in the Copyright of Literary and Movie Characters" on Wednesday, September 17, 2014. The CLE, sponsored by the Entertainment, Intellectual Property, and Technology Committee, reviewed key decisions that affect whether a copyright can be enforced.  James Bond, Sherlock Holmes, and Sam Spade are all characters that have been the focus of litigation dating back to 1930.
