The Bankruptcy and Debtor/Creditor Rights Committee welcomed Brian Richoux, the Eastern District of Louisiana Bankruptcy Chief Deputy Clerk, for a lunch meeting on Thursday, March 21st.  Mr. Richoux discussed how the sequester will impact practice in the Eastern District Bankruptcy Courts.  While the sequester, along with a reduction in court filings, has caused an immediate effect on the budget, Mr. Richoux stressed that no core functions will be reduced and that every effort is being made to minimize the effect on stakeholders.   Committee Chair, Al Derbes, IV and other attendees discussed upcoming programs for the 2013 year including CLEs on an Introduction to Consumer Bankruptcy, Entity Law and Bankruptcy, and Bankruptcy and the Personal Injury Lawyer.
