R. Patrick Vance Receives Presidents’ Award From New Orleans Bar Association
The New Orleans Bar Association bestowed the prestigious Presidents’ Award to R. Patrick Vance at a ceremony held on September 14 at the Windsor Court Hotel. The Presidents’ Award recognizes professional excellence, integrity and dedication to service in the highest ideals of citizenship.
Mr. Vance, a partner in the law firm of Jones Walker LLP, is considered one of the country’s pre-eminent corporate bankruptcy lawyers and commercial litigators. He is a former President of the New Orleans Bar Association and Southeast Louisiana Legal Services Corporation, an officer and conferee of the National Bankruptcy Conference, and a founding member of the LSU Law School’s National Alumni Board and the Advisory Board of the LSU Honors College.
When presenting the award, Judy Y. Barrasso, New Orleans Bar Association’s President, commended Mr. Vance. “Pat is and has been the consummate professional, representing in so many ways how attorneys should act,” said Barrasso.
The award is the highest level of recognition from the Association and is named the “Presidents’ Award” out of respect to the high ideals of community service and leadership displayed by all of the Presidents of the New Orleans Bar Association.
