NOBA Young Lawyers Section Receives 2016 Friend of Pro Bono Award

The New Orleans Bar Association (NOBA) Young Lawyers Section (YLS) was recognized with the 2016 Friend of Pro Bono Award from the Louisiana State Bar Association (LSBA) for providing significant support in the delivery of legal services to Louisiana’s indigent.

The YLS holds four fundraisers every year to benefit legal services to the less fortunate: Bar & Grille, a cooking competition; Pro-Bowl-O, a bowling tournament; Legalpalooza, a singing competition; and a golf tournament.

YLS programs are diverse and underscore a commitment to professional development and service. In addition to its fundraisers, some events the YLS also puts on are Approach the Bench CLE seminars, Big Easy Bootcamp CLE for new admittees, Law Day and the Legal Fair for the community.

The Award was presented on Tuesday, May 24th, 2016 at the LSBA Pro Bono Awards Ceremony at the Louisiana Supreme Court.
