The final presentation of "Litigation Lessons for Lawyers"  this past Tuesday was a mock Closing Statements with James Williams of Gauthier, Houghtaling & Williams, LLP, going against Peter Sperling of Frilot, LLCThe CLE was held in the courtroom of Judge Carl Barbier of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.  Law students from Loyola and Tulane law schools were picked to serve on the mock jury during our voir dire CLE and who heard opening statements during our second program served as the mock jury. Civil District Court Judge Piper Griffin presided over the mock proceedings. James Williams gave closing argument on behalf of the plaintiff followed by Peter's closing argument on behalf of the defendants.  Mr. Williams gave the rebuttal closing argument on behalf of plaintiff.  Each lawyer was given 25 minutes to conduct their closing argument.  James, Peter, and Judge Griffin answered questions on technique, strategy, and permissible tactics for closing arguments.
