The Family Law Committee welcomed Philip Riegel, Jr. and Frank Tranchina on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 as part of the Indispensable Family Law Advice Series. Mr. Riegel explored the latest case law in his one hour program devoted to “Select Recent Developments in Matrimonial Regimes.” Recent Louisiana Appellate decisions involving prenuptial agreements, what constitutes community property, manner of partitions, and mismanagement of community property were reviewed. Frank Tranchina, partner at Tranchina & Mansfield, offered an additional hour on “Trying Community Partitions on a Shoestring.” Topics included sworn detailed descriptive lists, discovery, the need for a cpa or expert, trial of partition, and alternative dispute resolution. The next CLEs in this series include an hour of ethics and professionalism on November 5, 2014 at the New Orleans Bar Association. Click here for more information.
