Join the Environmental Law Committee to hear about the The Oil Pollution Act (OPA) of 1990, and how it streamlined the EPA's ability to prevent and respond to catastrophic oil spills. They will also address the trust fund financed by a tax on oil that's available to clean up spills when the responsible party is incapable or unwilling to do so.

On May 23, 2018,  there was a happy hour social co-hosted by the Insurance Law, Maritime & International Law, Oil & Gas Law and Environmental Law committees! A big thank you to Flanagan Partners, Baker Donelson & Galloway Johnson for sponsoring this event.

On July 13, 2017, Linda Bayha and Siobhan presented a CLE on "New Orleans' Climate Action Strategy and Energy Project."

On June 19, 2015, Stephen Miles, Barrasso Usdin, discussed Practical and Legal Issues for Environmental Coverage Disputes.

On February 26, 2015, Clinical Instuctor Corinne Van Dalen, who teaches at the Tulane Environmental Law Clinic, talked about the work of the clinic.

On September 24, 2014, John Baay, Gieger Laborde, and William Barousse, Gieger Laborde discussed "Legal Causation in Louisiana Toxic Tort Cases." 

On June 10, 2014, Angela Harris, a Ph.D, board-certified toxicologist led a discussion on “How Chemicals Cause Cancer – Basic Science and Biomarker Discovery.”
