Bankruptcy Law Committee Announcements:

  • The Honorable Elizabeth W. Magner will host a Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 Bench-Bar Conference on June 14, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in Courtroom B-709 of the United States Bankruptcy Court, 500 Poydras Street, New Orleans, Louisiana.
     
  • The Court plans to discuss the Chapter 13 Model Plan, Trustee procedures for tax refunds, and any topics raised by attorneys.  Please email proposed topics to lauren_havrylkoff@laeb.uscourts.gov.
     
  • Judge Magner is also willing to host a Chapter 11 Bench-Bar Conference in the fall if there is sufficient interest.  Chapter 11 practitioners are invited to email proposed topics for such conference to the Bankruptcy Committee’s Chair, Alicia Bendana, at abendana@lowestein.com.

On August 4th, the Committee held the "Bankruptcy Liquidation and Litigation Trusts: Issues Presented and the Trustee's Perspective" CLE.

On October 15, 2015, the Committee held a CLE "The Interplay of Bankruptcy and Oil & Gas Law."

On July 9th, 2015, "Hot Topics in Bankruptcyand Mistakes to Avoid, the U.S. Trustee" CLE was held at the NOBA office.

On December 4, 2014, the Committee held their annual Bankruptcy Holiday Social at Ohm Lounge.

On September 18, 2014, the Committee held CLE "The Interplay of Bankruptcy and Domestic Law."
