Thomas Anzelmo (McCranie, Sistrunk, Anzelmo, Hardy, McDaniel & Welch LLC) discussed Lessons in Using and Defending Against Emergency Preparedness Immunity during a one-hour CLE hosted by the New Orleans Bar Association on Thursday, October 10th.  The presentation was the latest installment in the CLE series Litigation Lessons for Lawyers.

Mr. Anzelmo explained significant case developments impacting the “Louisiana Homeland Security and Emergency Assistance and Disaster Act" (La R.S. 29:721 et seq.) and regaled the group with stories his experience in the field has provided.  He also highlighted statutory changes made to the act and stressed the importance of certain key definitions that have broadened protection for government and private actors working in preparation for, during, and after a state of emergency.

Litigations Lessons continues through November, see the remaining CLE offered here.
