Maintaining Longevity in the Profession

October 22 2015 | Committees

On October 22, 2015, Darleene Peters of Irwin Fritchie Urquhart & Moore, moderated a lively panel discussion to the Minorities in the Profession Committee with Chancellor Joan Davis, Delgado Community College, Kim Boyle, Phelps Dunbar, and James Williams, Chehardy Sherman Williams Murray Recile Stakelum & Hayes, LLP, on “Maintaining Longevity in the Profession.”

The panelists provided insight on dealing with challenges that sometimes make it difficult to achieve sustainability in this profession; welcoming and working through those challenges by changing your inner thoughts; and the importance of being active in various bar associations and legal organizations, as well becoming involved in activities, civic commitments, and organizations that may be unrelated to law. The meeting was well-attended, engaging, and interactive.  All in attendance received encouragement and invaluable information.
