The New Orleans Bar Association (NOBA) is a nonprofit organization that represents the interests of lawyers and judges in the metropolitan New Orleans area. Communications Coordinator Position Description: The Communications Coordinator is primarily responsible for communicating with members and the public using a variety of print, electronic and social media. He or she is responsible for creating monthly and weekly newsletters, notices and flyers as needed. Duties include maintenance of content management system web site, social media accounts and other tasks. The Communications Coordinator will contribute to the association’s team effort by accomplishing related tasks including performing regular office work and other tasks for the New Orleans legal community. This role will be filled by a candidate with a strong work ethic, sharp communication skills including editing and writing persuasive copy, and the ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism or English
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent editing, spelling and grammar skills
- Graphic design experience using Indesign for layout and design of newsletters and other projects
- Understanding of the legal community and working with volunteers
- Mastery of general office tools, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Proficiency in developing and executing a multi-platform communications plan, including print materials, emails, and social media
- Website content management and administration expereince
- Social media strategy and implementation
- Ability to successfully coordinate multiple projects and competing deadlines
- Ability to quickly learn new skills as required
- Good judgment

McGlinchey Stafford, a nationally recognized law firm, is seeking a Lateral Recruiting Coordinator to work in its New Orleans office. McGlinchey was formed in 1974 in Louisiana, and we are now a firm of 200 attorneys spanning twelve offices nationwide.
We are seeking a Lateral Recruiting Coordinator who can join our recruiting team and will be solely responsible for high volume lateral associate hiring in our twelve offices. The coordinator will act as the firm liaison between potential lateral associate candidates and the Firm. He/she will draft job postings, and creatively source candidates using a variety of methods, including search firms, internal referrals and leads, online research of targets and prospects, and use internet resources such as LinkedIn to develop talent for the Firm. The coordinator will review resumes, conduct phone screening interviews, and work with the Hiring Attorney in each office to schedule interviews. The coordinator will be responsible for reference checks, background checks, and due diligence on associate candidates seeing the hiring process through the offer and acceptance stage. This position will assist the Legal Recruiting Director with lateral partner hiring including facilitating the due diligence process, review of lateral hiring forms, conflicts review, reference checks, background checks and presentation of candidates to Firm Management. The coordinator will assist with the onboarding process of new attorney hires. This position maintains recruiting statistics and prepares reports, surveys and presentations as needed on these hiring statistics. The coordinator will work closely on a daily basis with the Legal Recruiting Director located in the New Orleans office.The ideal candidate will have experience in law firm or legal recruiting and will be familiar with LinkedIn and programs such as VI Recruit. Qualified candidates will need a bachelor’s degree and possess 3-6 years’ experience within a recruiting department or recruiting agency and have the ability to work closely with partners, associates, administration and search consulting firms. This position will not have any involvement with summer associate hiring or the summer associate program as this position will be devoted solely to associate lateral hiring. The position is available immediately.
