Recent Developments in Healthcare Law & the Evolving Role of the Healthcare Lawyer CLE - Postponed

  • The Affordable Care Act and its implementing regulations have ushered in a new era for the healthcare industry, and healthcare lawyers are certainly not immune from this paradigm shift.  Sometimes referred to as “The Last Great Generalist,” the healthcare lawyer is now expected to wear multiple hats, advising clients on an increasingly wide range of issues, in the wake of a rapidly changing business & regulatory landscape, often in the absence of clear, if any, guidance from enforcement agencies.  Add to this uncertainty the threat of multi-million dollar penalties for a client’s non-compliance for even the most technical violations and it’s clear that the stakes are higher than ever for the healthcare lawyer.
  • This session will highlight some of these newly emerging ethical quandaries by highlighting some of the significant legal developments of the past few years and the difficult ethical decisions healthcare lawyers must make when advising clients on their ramifications.
