“Maintaining Longevity in the Profession

The Minorities in the Profession Committee’s next committee meeting will be held on October 22, 2015 at the New Orleans Bar Association office from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. The speakers for the meeting include Kim Boyle, Phelps Dunbar, Chancellor Joan Davis, Delgado Community College, and James Williams,Chehardy Sherman Williams Murray Recile Stakelum & Hayes, LLP. The theme for the meeting is “Maintaining Longevity in the Profession,” and the speakers will give the members advice on what it takes to survive in the legal profession.

On June 25, Judge Piper Griffin, Orleans Parish CDC, Sharonda Williams, the City Attorney for the City of New Orleans, Charles Rice, President & CEO of Entergy New Orleans, and Bill Aaron, Managing Shareholder, President and Chairman of the Board at Aaron & Gianna will discuss their navigation in the legal profession, challenges they have faced, and how they have overcome those challenges.  

On March 26, 2015, the Chair Kimberly Silas led the Committee in a “brainstorming” session to discuss Minorities in the Profession's vision for the year.

On June 30, 2013, YLS & Minorities in the Profession held a legal fair.
